Milli Gazete columnist Mevlüt Özcan was commemorated with mercy in the second year of his passing away. A commemoration program was held at the Fatih Zübeyde Hanım Cultural Center by the family on the occasion of Özcan's death anniversary. Mevlüt Özcan was remembered with prayers in the program, which was attended by many people.
MANY PARTICIPANTS ATTENDED
Organized in the year of the death of Milli Gazete writer Mevlüt Özcan, the program started with the recitation of the Qur’an, the most beautiful of words. Very valuable participants took part in the program, which continued with a cine-vision screening in which sections from Mevlüt Özcan's life were presented. In addition to Mevlüt Özcan's family members, Milli Gazete writers and participants from various regions of Turkey were among the guests.
FRIENDS TOLD ABOUT MEVLÜT ÖZCAN
In the commemoration program held in Fatih district of Istanbul, the participants talked about Mevlüt Özcan. The first person who took the floor to talk about the deceased Özcan was Hasan Çelik Hodja. Çelik, “I went to holy places many times with my teacher Mevlüt. We have been friends for over 50 years. He is a year younger than me, but he is older than me spiritually,” he said. Adem Çevik, who took the stage after Çelik, said, “Our teacher has a lot of work on all of us. Our teacher Mevlüt Özcan lives with his works.”
“HE GIVEN ADVICE, HE PRAYED”
In the commemoration program of the late Mevlüt Özcan, Milli Gazete writers Mustafa Kasadar and Necati Tuncer also took the floor. Mustafa Kasadar said, “We have been together with our teacher Mevlüt Özcan in various programs. We spent a lot of time in various activities of Milli Görüş. May Almighty Allah have mercy on him. He was a very nice person. Our teacher was always on the way. He was with Erbakan Hodja, the symbol name of the Islamic political struggle.” Another Milli Gazete writer, Necati Tuncer, who talked about Özcan in the program, said, “We had a friendship with him. He was one of the senior writers of the Milli Gazete. I would like to meet him very often. He used to give me advice and prayed for me.”
