Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli has called on ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) ministers to investigate the influence of Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) on voters, especially on the presidential candidates who will run with 100,000 signatures.

“Have the AKP’s Justice Minister and Interior Minister investigated the influence of FETÖ over voters? If they do not, I have concerns regarding which candidate [FETÖ] will focus on,” Bahçeli said to a group of reporters on May 3.

He suggested that the presidential candidates who are planning to participate in the election with the signatures of 100,000 citizens should be investigated.

“How many [of those citizens] are ByLock users, how many [of them] have been dismissed or removed from their posts, how many of their relatives are there? If all of them will focus on one candidate and help them receive 100,000 signatures, then it would be an important conclusion for Turkey,” he said.

He particularly referred to Good (İYİ) Party leader Meral Akşener, who has opted to run in the elections by gathering 100,000 signatures, stating she could be a candidate with her party group in the parliament.

“What would happen if FETÖ would say ‘I have 100,000 supporters in Turkey?’ We have to think about that,” said Bahçeli.
