CHP and MHP held weekly group meetings in the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu reiterated his statement that the headscarf should be legally secured, while burdening the government with the economy at the group meeting of his party. MHP Chairman Devlet Bahceli harshly criticized the opposition parties.
Kılıçdaroğlu stated that they will submit the law proposal for the headscarf call made on social media to the Parliament today and said, “We are submitting our law proposal. Let's pass the law now, let this outdated discussion end now.” Kılıçdaroğlu responded to MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, who said to him, ‘If you get your own DNA test done, you will see and understand the test results of the deceased terrorist,’ over the terrorist attack in Mersin. Kılıçdaroğlu said, “It's a good suggestion, but I have one condition, we will do a DNA test together, let's find out who is what.”
“POOL MEDIA IS SUPPORTED FROM EVERY CHANNEL”
Touching on the disinformation law that Justice and Development Party (AKP) and MHP are preparing to bring in Parliament, Kılıçdaroğlu said, “The main purpose of introducing the disinformation law is so that no one can write about the corruption of the palace and its company and its feeders. So that no one would know how the society was robbed.”
Pointing out that TV channels close to the government are supported by certain companies, Kılıçdaroğlu said: “The pool media is fed from every channel. His biggest resource is the gang of five. The reason for the existence of the gang of five is the pool media. The reason for the existence of the pool media is a five gang. So I'm telling you, we're going to find the gang of five that's coming, and we're going to catch them.”
BAHÇELİ: WE WILL NOT SUPPORT HEADSCARF
While talking about Kılıçdaroğlu's statement about the headscarf proposal, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli said that he would not support the proposal. Bahçeli, answering the questions of journalists after the group meeting, said, “There is no point in exploiting the headscarf under the guise of being halal. When such a law comes to the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the MHP stands behind its decision in the Parliament on the headscarf issue in the past. It says there is no need for a new decision. If Kılıçdaroğlu is so sensitive to the headscarf issue, let him start with the headscarf of MPs.”
