Edirne Military Hospital was built by the order of Sultan II. Abdülhamid Khan for the wounded in the Balkans, Çanakkale and Galicia. Speaking at the commemoration program held at the Edirne Military Hospital martyrdom where 52 thousand martyrs were buried, AGD Edirne Branch President Abdülhamit İriş said, “We are struggling to pass on what our martyrs have left us; courage, self-sacrifice, perseverance, faith and determination to future generations.”
Anatolian Youth Association (AGD), organized a meaningful commemoration program at the Edirne Military Hospital, which was built for the treatment of the Turkish soldiers who fought in the Balkans, Çanakkale and Galicia by the order of Sultan II. Abdülhamid Khan. Edirne Military Hospital, which also has a martyrdom where 52 thousand Turkish soldier was buried, is an important work that reveals the struggle of our ancestors. In the commemoration program organized by the AGD Edirne Branch Presidency at the Edirne Military Hospital Martyrdom, prayed for our heroic ancestors who fought for the homeland and for our soldiers who do their heroic duty in the army at the moment. The program organized by AGD Edirne Branch was attended by Edirne Governor Kürşat Kırbıyık, Deputy Governor and Edirne Special Provincial Administration Secretary General Eyyüp Batuhan Ciğerci, Edirne Provincial Gendarmerie Commandantship Colonel Taşkın Keleş, Edirne Provincial Mufti Alettin Bozkurt, AGD Edirne Branch President Abdülhamit İriş, Edirne Martyr Families Aid and Solidarity Association President Faruk Çiftçi and citizens.

“WE ARE THE ORIGIN OF THIS NATION”
Making a short speech in the program, AGD Edirne Branch President Abdülhamit İriş said, “Those who know their past well, take firm steps towards the future. All over Turkey, efforts are being made to commemorate our martyrs related to our martyrs. Of course, it is very important to commemorate our martyrs and to organize such events throughout the year. But there is something more important, and that is understanding the martyrs. We are fighting to pass on what our martyrs have left us; courage, self-sacrifice, perseverance, faith and determination to future generations. We are the origin of this nation. We are the essence of this nation, we are itself, we are its identity. It is our most fundamental duty to bring together the values of our nation and the children of this nation.”
