Geçitkale Military Airport is the permanent air base where Turkey's armed unmanned aerial vehicle (SİHA) and unmanned aerial vehicle (İHA) will be permanently deployed. The Israeli regime, which bought about a 1,000 acres of land in the village of Alaniçi, close to the base, carried out the sale through a Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) citizen registered in the district of Iskele, according to the information we received.
It was decided that Geçitkale Military Airport, which has been used for a while after the Cyprus Peace Operation but has been idle for many years, will be a permanent air base where our country's SİHAs and İHAs will be permanently deployed. Turkey's new base in the Mediterranean was fully operational on July 20, 2021, when President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 37th anniversary ceremonies of the Cyprus Peace Operation. While Geçitkale Airport, which was built for the purpose of a military base after the 1974 Cyprus Peace Operation and located at a point overlooking the Eastern Mediterranean, 40 kilometers east of the capital Nicosia, had a strategic importance, Turkey's said move was deemed successful. It turned out that after Turkey established an air base in the TRNC, the Israeli regime bought land at a point close to the area that Turkey used as a base.
For a long time, the Milli Gazete was bringing the lands acquired by the occupying Israeli regime in Cyprus to the agenda and drawing attention to the danger in question. The new information reached by our newspaper reveals that Israel is positioned against Turkey in Cyprus. Accordingly, according to the reports we received in our newspaper, Israel targeted not only the lands on the coastline of Cyprus, but also the regions in the interior. Israel purchased approximately one thousand acres of land in the village of "Alanici", located southeast of Geçitkale Airport and close to the runway.
THEY ARE TRYING TO SURROUND US
It has been learned that the Israeli regime, which has planned and deliberately purchased land in the TRNC, took action years ago for its sneaky move. According to the information obtained by the Milli Gazete, the Israeli lobby, using a TRNC citizen whose residence is registered in the Iskele district, as an apparatus, carried out its activities through this person. This person, who bought nearly a thousand acres of land from about ten people, paid a very small price for the land in question. On the other hand, Israel attempted to purchase the land routes from the south and north to the area where our Geçitkale Air Base is located. Unsuccessful in the village of Geçitkale, located on the north side of the base, the Israel lobby succeeded in purchasing land, albeit small, in the area known as Dörtyol.
