Since the Retirement Age Victims (EYT) regulation has not yet been put on the forefront of the agenda and there is no change, it will be discussed in 2023. The ‘holiday’ in question, which came to the agenda with the proposal of the government deputies, caused the reaction of millions of EYT members who were waiting for the uncertainty to end.
The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) went into recess after a busy budget marathon. Hopes in the situation of the contracted public personnel and in the situation of the millions who are waiting eagerly for EYT were left for the new year due to the holiday of TBMM. The holiday situation in question also caused the reaction of millions and opposition deputies who were waiting for the uncertainty to end.
EYT WILL BE DISCUSSED IN 2023
Despite the opposition's objections, according to the Justice and Development Party (AKP)'s accepted group proposal; The proposals that placed at the forefront of the agenda should be completed on December 20, 21, 22 and 23, and that the TBMM would not convene on December 27, 28 and 29 if these proposals were completed and accepted. According to this decision; Parliament will suspend its legislative activities from Monday December 26 until Tuesday, January 3rd. Since the EYT regulation has not yet been placed at the forefront of the agenda, it will be discussed in 2023 if there is no change.
THE MINISTER PREVIOUSLY POINTED OUT TO DECEMBER
Minister of Labor and Social Security, Vedat Bilgin, pointed out that the work on EYT would be completed in December and noted the following: “Because it was before September 8, 1999, this is very common among insured workers who worked in an enterprise that year or something, since records were not kept in the digital environment in the past. We continue to work on recording the unregistered ones and transferring them to digital media,” Bilgin said.
