The 6th Term Collective Agreement negotiations, which are closely related to civil servants and retired civil servants, have started.
Memur-Sen labour union Chairman Ali Yalçın, Turkey Kamu-Sen labour union Chairman Önder Kahveci, KESK Co-Chair Mehmet Bozgeyik and the leaders of the authorized unions in the service branches attended the meetings chaired by Vedat Bilgin, Minister of Labor and Social Security.
Minister Bilgin stated that collective agreements strengthen the bonds between the state and society in democratic societies, "We hope that these collective agreements and collective negotiations will lead us to a higher level of solidarity and integration. Of course, it is the ideal of all of us that this integration ends with a further agreement by solving the problems in social and economic conditions. Turkey will not crush its employees under inflation. I would like to state that we will address the issue at a point above inflation," he said.
“PAST PERIOD LOSSES MUST BE REMOVED”
Memur-Sen Chairman Ali Yalçın, regarding the raise proposals to be made in 2022 and 2023, "We offered a 21 percent coefficient increase, 3 percent welfare share and a net 600 TL increase in income for 2022, and a 17 percent coefficient increase and 3 percent welfare share increase for 2023. What we want to reveal with this proposal is this: Past period losses must be eliminated. It is necessary to realize this with a significant increase," he said.
“SERVANTS AND RETIREES SHOULD NOT BE PRESSED BY INFLATION”
Emphasizing that civil servants and retired civil servants should not be crushed by inflation, Yalçın said, "For this reason, we proposed that the coefficient increases be given at once in January, not in 6-month periods. Third, the real increase in salaries and wages must certainly occur, while at the same time producing a result of the growth in the economy being passed on to the civil servants of the increase in the domestic product. We want to achieve this with the 3 percent increase in welfare share we offer for both years."
