The December results of the "Linear of Hunger and Poverty" research published by "Türk-İş" Confederation every month were shared with the public.
According to the results announced, the increase in the hunger and poverty line continues to increase every month.
According to the data; The monthly food expenditure (hunger limit) required for a family of 4 to have a healthy, balanced and adequate diet has increased to 4,013 Turkish Liras (TL) and 26 kurus.
Along with the food expenditure, the total amount of other mandatory monthly expenditures (poverty line) for clothing, housing (rent, electricity, water, fuel), transportation, education, health and similar needs increased to 13,072 liras and 51 kurus.
The 'cost of living' of a single employee was 4,926 liras and 94 kurus per month.
THE ADDITIONAL COST OF BREAD TO A FAMILY BUDGET IS 95 LIRA
According to the research, which also shared data on the long queues in front of the buffets and the bread prices, which are frequently on the agenda, the additional cost on the family budget reached 95 TL with a 28.57 percent increase in bread.
Price increases of 42.7 percent for rice, 70.8 percent for bulgur and 30.4 percent for flour, among other foodstuffs in the same expenditure group as bread, were determined.
The monthly additional burden on the family budget due to the price increases arising from this product group was recorded as 185 TL.
FOOD INFLATION FOR THE LAST 12 MONTHS 54.96 PERCENT
The decrease in the exchange rate did not take place in the kitchen inflation. According to the research, the minimum amount of expenditure required for food by a family of four living in Ankara, realized as 25.75 percent with a record increase compared to the previous month.
In the last 12 months, the rate of increase in food inflation was 54.96 percent. The annual average increase rate was calculated as 23.72 percent.
HIKES MELTED THE MINIMUM WAGE RAISE
In the evaluation of the research by the "Türk-İş" Board of Directors, it was noted that the price increases overshadowed the increase in the minimum wage.
"The minimum wage, which is an important and often the only income of the worker and his family, increased from 2,825 liras and 90 kurus to 4,253 liras and 40 kurus per month in this process. Compared to the minimum wage valid in the previous year, the monthly net increase of 1,427 lira and 50 kurus and 50.51 percent was overshadowed by the prices realized this month. Therefore, in this case, purchasing power and living conditions will not improve," Board of Directors stated.
