Saadet Party Deputy Chairman Cafer Güneş, at the press conference held to share his party's thoughts and solution proposals, reminded the attack that 4 of our soldiers were martyred and injured 7 in the attack carried out by terrorists in the ‘Claw-Lightning (Pençe-Yıldırım) Operation’ in northern Iraq region, and expressed his condolences to the martyrs and their families. Reminding that we are in the last days of 2021, Güneş conveyed his wishes for mercy and forgiveness for Oğuzhan Asiltürk, Sezai Karakoç, Mustafa Yazgan, Şaban Teoman Durali who passed away this year.
“WILL THE POLITICAL MODEL FOLLOW THE CHINESE ECONOMIC MODEL?”
Pointing out that what is happening in Turkey is due to the shortsighted and acumen-less policies of the government, Güneş underlined that the government is trying to cover up this situation, “The government does not have a plan B against this trend. Not know where to go in the economy. Not know which berth to dock, like a ship that has lost its compass. The government, which could not cope with the currency, so, would supposedly develop Turkey with the Chinese model. Now I want to ask here; Do you emulate China's economic model only, or do you emulate its political understanding under one-party rule, which does not fit into human rights? As you know, China has taken millions of our East Turkestan brothers to concentration camps with the inhumane methods it uses today, on the grounds that it poses a threat to its own political and economic interests. I wonder that will Turkey face a political understanding that takes not only China's economic model but also its political model and imprisons its opponents in concentration camps? As if heard the footsteps of this; they either open an investigation or arrest the person who opens his mouth," he said.
GÜNEŞ SAYS ‘HAVE A HEARTH!’ TO THE POWER
Expressing that the economic inequality and the cost of living are getting deeper in Turkey, Güneş, reminding the increase figures, "One of the measures of a country's development as a civilization is said to be paper consumption. A 300 percent increase was made in a year for paper products such as paper napkins, handkerchiefs, school textbooks, toilet paper, which are currently used by our people. A 300 percent hike is easier said than done, it is not possible to cope with it because we called the political power, we said fertilizer, fertilizer factories closed, we said vaccine, vaccine factories closed, we said paper, they sold paper mills. Importing was very easy, they were importing in and killing domestic production, they were providing temporary abundance, now that abundance is over. I call out to the power, this is not the way you go. After 20 years, you appear as production, export and employment. Have a hearth!” he added.
“THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING, 1 LITER OF GASOLINE CANNOT BE BOUGHT FOR 50 TL”
Reminding the fuel price hikes that took place frequently in recent days, Güneş noted that the hikes have been made very often and have become untraceable. Güneş said, "A citizen who says, ‘I always buy 50 Turkish Liras (TL)’, will not be able to buy a liter of gasoline for 50 TL at this rate. Look at that according to OECD data, with an annual increase of 27,4 percent in Turkey food prices, it is by far the first in the world in terms of food hikes. The increase in food prices in Turkey is even more than double that of Colombia, which is struggling with the same problems and ranks second on the list. See, this example alone is enough to understand the contradictory economic policy of this government; the government wants to convince the people that inflation is 21 percent in Turkey based on Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) data, but sets the Motor Vehicles Tax (MTV) hike as 25 percent. What a terrible contradiction this is, I leave it to your discretion.”
“THE DIFFERENCE BECOMES BIGGER AND MORE BIGGER”
Drawing attention to the income inequality in Turkey, Güneş, “According to the latest research; in Turkey, the richest 10 percent hold 54 percent of the income. This inequality is Turkey's main problem; on the one hand, a nation that cannot afford its most basic needs, on the other hand, a small happy minority. Now don't! Do not come to us because you will raise the minimum wage a higher point. Because with the loss of value in money experienced so far, you took away with the ladle what you were going to give to the nation with a spoon. The gap more widened as the gap widened. Today, the minimum wage earner needs to get 5,200 TL in his pocket so that the situation is equalized with the increased salary he received in January last year. You are talking about 4,000 TL," said.
“THE GOVERNMENT AGAINST INTEREST BUT 90 MILLIONS CITIZENS DIRECTED TO THE BANK”
Mentioning the government's discourse on interest, Güneş underlined that the government has directed citizens to banks more in the last 20 years, "The power says, there is Qur’an order so, we are against interest, to touch the beliefs of people who believes, but you have directed 90 millions of our citizens to the banks in 20 years. You've made citizens to pay enormous interests to the banks. The interests you pay yourself is separate. We are at the bottom of the minimum wage in Europe, the purchasing power of the minimum wage earner has decreased by 100 percent. With the minimum wage, the minimum wage earner could buy 54 kilograms (kg) of ground beef in January, down to 41 kg in November. 706 packages of pasta could be purchased in January has fallen to 452 packages in today. The employee's loss is 254 packets of pasta. At the beginning of the year, the citizen could buy 403 kg of rice with the minimum wage, and can buy 176 kg of rice in November. When you compare, you get dizzy, and the authorities must give a clear and unequivocal answer to this," he added.
