CHP and MHP held weekly group meetings in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).
While CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu criticized the government over the economy at his party's group meeting, ruling party partner MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli harshly criticized opposition parties.
“You still haven't taken any action for 20 years”
Kılıçdaroğlu, who was charged with the disaster that occurred in the Amasra district of Bartın and in which 41 miners lost their lives, said, "All of them are young. It's a shame, it's a sin. A country cannot be run like this. They have been saying that they will take precautions for 20 years. Are you still taking precautions for 20 years? We are number one in mining accidents in the world… Why does this death appear before us? Everyone in the world is mining, why do most deaths occur in our country? They have been saying that they will take precautions for 20 years. Are you still taking precautions for 20 years? We are number one in mining accidents in the world."
“THEY ARE NOT SINCERE TO US”
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli stated that the negligence that caused the mining disaster in Amasra should be brought to light.
Reacting to those who drew attention to the warnings of neglect in the TCA report, Bahçeli said, "We will follow this issue to the end. However, whoever or anyone is rubbing hands to add political content to the disaster by using the explosion in the mine as an excuse is not sincere in our opinion. While talking about Amasra, it is intended to remind the Soma disaster 8 years ago, it is a sick approach. Those who seek provocation from social media are both despicable and immoral."
