According to the information received by the Anatolian Agency (AA) correspondent, the General Directorate of Criminal Records and Statistics of the Ministry of Justice conducted research on the types of crimes in the cases filed in 2021. The crimes committed in Turkey were under the spotlight in the study, in which the cases were examined. Turkey's ‘Crime Atlas’ was created with the study carried out according to provinces and geographical regions. According to the ‘Crime Atlas’ prepared, "offences against physical integrity", including deliberate and negligent injury, ranked first in 62 provinces in cases filed pursuant to the Turkish Penal Code (TCK). In 19 provinces, including Istanbul and Ankara, "crimes against property", including theft, looting and damage to property, took the first place.
WHAT DO THE RESULTS SAY PROVINCE BY PROVINCE?
Within the scope of special laws, the most lawsuits were filed in 32 provinces for opposition to the "Execution and Bankruptcy Law". In 22 provinces, including Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Adana, Mersin, Artvin and Kocaeli, lawsuits were filed mostly for "opposition to the Anti-Smuggling Law". Duzce, Bolu, Ordu, Gumushane "Opposition to the Forest Law" was the subject of lawsuits the most in 12 provinces among which it is located. In Samsun, Trabzon, Rize, Malatya, Elazig and Diyarbakir, the most lawsuits were filed for opposing the "Law on Firearms, Knives and Other Tools". In Çankırı, Kırıkkale, Tunceli, Bayburt and Kars, the most prosecuted crime was recorded as "opposition to the Military Penal Code". Mostly “Tax Procedure Law” in Ankara, “Industrial Property Law” most in Yalova, “cheque law” most in Istanbul, and “Conservation of Cultural and Natural Assets” most in Yozgat, lawsuits were filed for violating the Law.
IT DIFFERS REGION BY REGION
Crimes committed in accordance with the Turkish Penal Code and special laws were also evaluated regionally. In the region-based research, it was seen that "offences against physical integrity " took the first place in the lawsuits filed in the Aegean, Black Sea, Mediterranean and Eastern Anatolia regions. In the Marmara, Central Anatolia and Southeastern Anatolia regions, "crimes against property" rank first in the lawsuits filed. There have been many lawsuits filed in accordance with special laws, "opposition to the cheque law" in Marmara, "opposition to the Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law" in Aegean, Black Sea and Central Anatolia regions, "opposition to Anti-Smuggling Law" in Eastern Anatolia, Southeastern Anatolia and Mediterranean regions.
