While the so-called 'Turkish model', carried out by the Ministry of Labor on the problem of ‘Retirement Age Victims' (EYT), which has been growing steadily for years, has been kept secret, details about the regulation have begun to emerge. According to the information reached by our newspaper, the ministry will take the number of premium days as the basis for retirement, not age and working time. Accordingly, female employees who entered employment before September 8, 1999 will be able to retire, regardless of age, if they complete 7,200 and male employees 9,000 premium days. If this formula is implemented, 1,5 million people will retire in 2023.

THE LOWEST COST 42 BILLION TURKISH LIRAS!

Another discussion on the subject is about the cost that the EYT regulation will bring to the budget. The joint commission established by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security is working towards a balanced financial figure. While no official figures have been announced yet, tax experts have made an average calculation. According to the these results, there will be a cost of 1 million people with the retirement of the citizens who are stuck in the 47-50 age band. When calculated over the lowest pension, this cost will be 42 billion Turkish Liras (TL) per year.
