The government is preparing to step back when its citizens do not believe! At a time when Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced 21 percent inflation, a 36 percent hike in 2022 Motor Vehicles Tax (MTV) caused reactions. Citizens, who showed their reactions especially on social media, "If inflation is 21 percent, why is there a 36 percent increase in MTV?" posed the question to the government. The government, which could not answer the questions, found the solution to reduce the MTV hike in order to convince the people of inflation!

INFLATION 21 PERCENT BUT MTV'S RISE 36 PERCENT!

The government is taking a step back regarding the notification of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, published in the Official Gazette in November, that the Motor Vehicles Tax for 2022 will increase by 36,2 percent! The government, which received a great reaction from the citizens after the announcement of the extreme MTV hike, has kept its silence until today. However, the public's questioning of a 36,2 percent hike in MTV at a time when official inflation was 21 percent pushed President Erdogan to use his authority. President Erdoğan is expected to reduce MTV hike to 21 percent in order to make people believe that inflation is 21 percent.

BOTH OF HIS AIMS WILL BE CLINCHED BY GOING TO DISCOUNT

On the other hand, it is stated that Erdogan aims for two things by lowering the MTV hike. It is stated that the first is to convince the citizens that inflation is 21 percent, and the second is to reinforce the perception of a "leader who thinks about his people" by using his authority. It is stated that Erdogan, who plans to reduce the pressure of the public in this way, may also cut the bill of the extreme increase to the former Treasury and Finance Minister Lütfü Elvan, who resigned from his duty last week. In addition, Erdogan used his authority for 2020, reducing the 22,57 percent increase in MTV to 12 percent.
