Due to the recent political developments and the fact that our country has entered the election atmosphere even though the election date has not been announced, there has been a significant increase in the number of polls announced to the public. In a significant part of the announced surveys, results are obtained that AK Party and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), which constitute the main body of the People's Alliance, lost votes, while Republican People's Party (CHP) and Good (İyi) Party, which constitute the Nation Alliance, gained votes. This situation led to the formation of the perception of "The power is going" in the opposition wing and the increase of propaganda in this direction.
If there is going to be a change in power in the upcoming elections in Turkey, in our opinion, the opposition bloc's correct reading and evaluation of the developments, the survey results and acting with strategic thinking are the basic conditions for this change to take place.
Felicity (Saadet) Party Chairman, Mr. Temel Karamollaoğlu, in an interview he gave recently, stated that "There is a 15% mass that broke away from the ruling AKP, this mass is still in an undecided position and they are hesitant about losing their gains related to living their faith" and declared that the electorate would be the determining factor.
This determination is very important in terms of reading the current political environment. Because, a possible change in power will be possible by winning the voters who voted for the components of the People's Alliance in the previous elections and who are not satisfied with the country's administration and the political atmosphere today. This has conditions.
First of all, the perception that the CHP has gained power, which appeared in the surveys, is a negative situation in terms of gaining the said mass. Because, according to their own point of view, this mass, which has hesitations about the gains in terms of their beliefs, may tend to return to their previous preferences, albeit belatedly, in the face of the perception of the CHP gaining power. The most concrete example of this situation was experienced before the 2007 elections. Although the AKP seemed to have lost a significant amount of power in the polls conducted before the election process, it regained the mass it lost after the conservative voters' anxiety and debates at the Republican rallies and left the elections victorious.
It should also be stated that; At this point, it cannot be said that CHP Chairperson Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's call to say goodbye had a significant impact on undecided conservative voters. Only if the CHP puts forward a concrete proposal such as ensuring that everyone in our country can live their faith without pressure as in the past, this concrete step to be taken can find a response in establishing confidence in the conservative sector. The second issue is related to the elimination of the society's discomfort from political tension and polarization. Opposition parties should reassure the society that in a possible change of power, there will not be a revanchist approach towards the management staff of the current government, especially the President, and the political environment will be softened. Because, first of all, Turkey needs to relax.
In addition, it should not be forgotten that even though they were unsuccessful in terms of the audience that is predicted to determine the outcome of the election, there is a fondness for Mr. President in the first place. Another important point concerns the response to the language of animosity, which is likely to increase the dose of the components of the People's Alliance as the election approaches. In this regard, the opposition should be able to respond to the language of animosity, which is used incorrectly and without giving a twist that can be used by rivals, in matters that our society is sensitive to, with a calm, smart approach that will satisfy the feelings of the society.
One of the most important issues is; is to convince the society that it is possible to solve the existing problems and that these problems can be solved by the opposition components who aspire to power. In this regard, it is important to put forward concrete solution proposals rather than constantly expressing the problems. Because the society experiences problems in their daily life in the market, in the market, while paying their bills.
For this reason, in my opinion, the act of cutting off the electricity and the like will not find a significant response in the long run in the eyes of the society. Instead of this approach, it is essential for the opposition to focus heavily on the development of models and concrete solution proposals on how to solve problems and their correct transmission to the society. Finally, more important than all the steps we have mentioned is the matter of maintaining the trust of the society in the state and in the political mechanism. It is vital that all political components in Turkey emphasize that the solution to our problems is in politics and at the ballot box, in order to prevent social disintegration and to preserve the hopes of the society for the future of the country.
