In our article last week, we mentioned the necessity of establishing a new world in order for humanity to escape from global domination. We have stated that neither the nation-state nor regional unions can resist this domination. We have even stated that the nation-state ontologically contains globalization, and regional unities contain the negative effects of globalization because their purpose of existence is to get a share from the global pie. We came to the conclusion that the possibility for this lies in a new world centered around the Islamic Union.

So, what kind of path will we follow to reach the Islamic Union, the first step of a new world? I want to think a little bit about this issue today. Considering the data of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, it may not seem appropriate to practice at the first stage that 57 Islamic countries come together and form a union. But the ultimate goal is to make it happen. Therefore, strategies that will achieve this goal should also be determined.

We can list this strategy in three stages. First of all, it should show the maturity of living in peace and solidarity with everyone and all segments of the Muslim peoples, who have independent states, under the same state roof. Secondly, it is important to overcome the problems caused by regional unions and sharing the same geography by compromise. In the third stage, all Muslim countries should set aside their whims and manage to unite in a common concern.

First of all, Muslims living within the borders of the same state should be able to face their own problems. Taking an Islamic Union journey with those who do not tolerate the existence, thoughts and lifestyle of their Muslim brother next to him is just a pipe dream. Those who want to shoulder the burden of the new world should be able to share the problems of not only Muslims but also all segments of society.

People who want to settle their lives on a territory have the same expectations, even if they are of different beliefs, ethnic identities, sects and political views. Their ultimate goal is to live in this land in peace, prosperity, security and justice. If we take these as a general denominator, there is no reason why people should not live without upsetting each other. If we place a belief, an identity, and a political view on the denominator rather than these ultimate goals, it is inevitable that conflict will prevail in this social atmosphere.

Secondly, each region should establish a negotiation environment in which they can solve their own problems. Since societies living at long distances have weak relations with each other, their possible problems are few. However, it is normal to have some disagreements as the relations of the societies that share the close geography are more active. The important thing is that there should be regional cooperation that can resolve these conflicts. Every state that shares the nearby geography should unconditionally establish an environment of cooperation. Whatever the disagreement between them, this should not be placed before the will of cooperation. The places where these disputes are negotiated should be under the umbrella of regional cooperation.

It is important to take steps one by one on the road to a new world. It is obvious that unions expanding in waves will rest on more solid foundations. Rather than dealing with the whims of nation states and their rulers, the idea of an Islamic Union to be established on the basis of regional cooperation is more plausible. A union to be established in this way can be the founding will of a new world. The ultimate goal of this union will be to pioneer the establishment of a more peaceful world by uniting all societies disturbed by today's world around the same feelings.
