The joint training and cooperation protocol between the Ombudsman Institution (KDK) and the Union of Municipalities of Turkey (TBB) was signed by Chief Ombudsman Şeref Malkoç and TBB and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin.
CHIEF OMBUDSMAN MALKOÇ: “MUNICIPALITIES ARE SERVICE INSTITUTIONS THAT TOUCH LIFE”
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chief Ombudsman Şeref Malkoç emphasized that with the protocol signed, both cooperation and coalition would be made. Underlining that municipalities are the most important service institutions that touch life from birth to death, Malkoç noted that the quality of municipal services has increased in the last 15-20 years.
CITIZEN'S ACCESS TO JUSTICE WILL BE EASIER
Malkoç stated that they signed this protocol in order not to overshadow the increasing quality due to the loss of rights.
“This protocol will facilitate the citizens' access to justice and will contribute to the rooting of the law in Turkey and the development of human rights. Our nation deserves the best of service. Fulfilling this duty is ours who work in public sector," he said.
TBB CHAIRWOMAN ŞAHİN: “ALL SECTIONS OF SOCIETY ARE SATISFIED WITH THE KDK SYSTEM”
TBB and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Fatma Şahin emphasized that TBB is one of the most rooted unions established after the foundation of the Republic, and that it has continuously strengthened its institutional capacity to solve the problems of municipalities and increase the quality of service since its establishment.
“KDK DECISIONS WILL BE IMPLEMENTED MORE EFFECTIVELY IN MUNICIPALITIES”
Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Şahin said, “With the signed protocol, it is aimed to explain the principles of application to the Ombudsman Institution to the managers, technical and administrative personnel of municipalities, subsidiaries and affiliates of these administrations, to ensure that the decisions made by the institution are used more effectively by the municipalities, and to organize trainings for the Ombudsman Institution personnel on the legislation related to the municipalities.”
