Felicity (Saadet) Party Konya Deputy and Head of Youth Branch Abdulkadir Karaduman brought the legal process regarding Metin Yüksel, who was martyred in the courtyard of Fatih Mosque on February 23, 1979, to the agenda of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). Karaduman, who submitted a parliamentary question to the Presidency of the TBMM for the Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdağ to answer, asked if the Ministry of Justice had any work to shed light on the assassination of Metin Yüksel.
DARK CONNECTIONS MUST BE ILLUMINATED
Expressing that the murder of Metin Yüksel should be clarified, Karaduman said, “Metin Yüksel, who has contributed to the education of young people in Turkey in accordance with national and moral values, our historical and cultural heritage, and who is the head of the Fatih Branch of the Akıncılar Association, unfortunately killed by assassination on February 23, 1979 when he was only 20 years old. The inadequacy of studies on the perpetrators, the inability to find justice, and the inability to illuminate the dark connections of that period still keeps the doubts about the trust in the justice institution fresh, and these murders remain as the bleeding wounds of the consciences.”
WHAT ARE THE ORGANIZATIONAL CONNECTIONS OF THIS ASSASINATION?
Karaduman directed the following questions to the Minister of Justice Bozdağ;
“When you were the Minister of Justice in the 61st, 62nd, 64th and 65th Governments, did you carry out any work on clarifying all aspects of the Metin Yüksel assassination and punishing the perpetrators?
Do you currently work on conducting an adequate and detailed investigation process regarding Metin Yüksel's murder?
Is it true that only the hitmen of this assassination are on trial, not the real perpetrators and instigators?
What are the political and organizational connections of this assassination?”
