Yesterday was the anniversary of a historic day for Azerbaijan. As it is known, after the 44-day struggle, a very important part of the Karabakh lands were liberated from the occupation. The date of November 8, which means much more than a success for Azerbaijan, was declared as Victory Day. Naturally, many people from Turkey sent congratulatory messages to Azerbaijan. Celebrations were organized. Social media shares were made with the content emphasizing brotherhood, unity and togetherness. The statements that proved the common sorrow, the common destiny, the joy, the reality of one nation, two states followed one after the other.

Now, the infrastructure for the transition of the relations between Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia to a different regional phase has been formed. The fact that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who was the Prime Minister during the Karabakh War and was even exposed to a coup attempt, received 54 percent of the vote in the last elections despite the Karabakh defeat, showed that the people of Armenia also learned lessons from the events.

With the invasion that took place in the early 1990s, those who said "We took Karabakh, we lost Armenia" proved how right they were in their determination during the occupation period. These 30 years, spent with the diaspora's discourses that read ghazals from afar, have not been able to move Armenia to a better point since then. Armenia, of which 85 percent of its territory is surrounded by Turkey and Azerbaijan, has always tried to turn the mill with transport water.

Even though there were some risks and uncertainties at the peace table established by Russia, the current situation revealed that Azerbaijan emerged from the process as much as possible. Now, there are opportunities for Armenia to stand on its own feet. The fact that Turkey and Azerbaijan put forward the condition of opening the Zangezur Corridor in order to normalize relations may also turn into an opportunity for Armenia.

This corridor will provide the land connection between Turkey and Central Asian countries, but this will also strengthen Armenia's position both politically and economically.

Therefore, it will be possible to ensure that peace becomes permanent in the South Caucasus lands with the advice to be taken from the occupation mistake. On the anniversary of the day when the occupation in Karabakh resulted in the victory of Azerbaijan, Armenia should not approach this issue emotionally.

Otherwise, everything will turn into a vicious circle that repeats itself for Armenia. Everyone should evaluate the developments with common sense and first of all show the will to keep communication channels open. This approach will also create a healthy basis for solving problems.
