Mustafa Kaya, Deputy Chairman of Saadet Party and Deputy of Istanbul, published a written statement about the problems and solution proposals of our citizens living abroad.

Saying that especially the citizens living abroad and trying to come to our country by road face difficulties, Kaya pointed out that some steps should be taken to eliminate the negativities.

Emphasizing the need to establish a "Crisis Desk" regarding the possible dangers on the Turkish road route, Kaya said, "Necessary support should be given to our citizens who are faced with bribery, security of life and property, theft and unfair treatment. Special studies should be carried out especially for the Serbian transit, and attempts should be made to open full-fledged recreational facilities such as accommodation, food services, vehicle repair points, gas stations, on the way to and from Serbia. The number of entry and exit platforms at the border gates of Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Turkey must be increased. Necessary infrastructure works should be prepared for these countries. The European Parliament (EP) should be involved for road safety and other issues."

“FLIGHT TICKET PRICES MUST BE REDUCED TO A REASONABLE POINT”

Underlining that maritime transport should also be used as alternative routes, Kaya said, "This diversity will enable countries that will experience loss of income on the road crossing route to understand the seriousness of the problem. The government should immediately respond to the expectations regarding one of its promises in these elections, that the astronomical flight ticket prices will be brought to a reasonable point. Our citizens, after a long and tiring journey, are faced with very long security and control calls at the customs gates just when they say that this ordeal is over. While these processes are being carried out, a formula that does not turn into an ordeal for our citizens should be implemented, as well as the necessary inspections. Increasing the number of officers, using technological opportunities more and increasing the number of transition platforms can be a solution to this. The government should make the necessary arrangements regarding the promise of reducing the 185-day waiting period applied as a waiting period to 30 days, after the expiration of the 2 years, which is the usage period of the expats who bring their vehicle from abroad."
