British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said in an article published in the Mail on Sunday on Sunday, “We are planning the next phase with the Home Secretary. "We will establish transaction centers in the region outside Afghanistan for Afghans, which we have an obligation to bring to this country," he said. After this article, some writers of the same newspaper made comments that the operation centers outside Afghanistan were Pakistan and Turkey, and that the Ministry of Defense was conducting these negotiations. The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also made an official statement, stating that "there is no such request, and even if it is, it will not be accepted". In other words, Turkey has shown that it takes this article seriously.
On the other hand, although the definitions of refugee, asylum seeker and immigrant have different meanings in international law, our country's society sees these adjectives the same. Legally, Turkey accepts those coming from Western countries as refugees according to the 1951 Geneva Convention, but it does not recognize this right for those coming from the east. Therefore, the processes carried out regarding the citizenship requests of foreigners are subject to the procedure determined by the laws. Those coming from Syria are treated as asylum seekers, while those coming from Afghanistan are considered immigrants. Officially, although there are practical difficulties regarding the return of Syrians, while their return is legally possible, this process becomes much more complicated for those coming from Afghanistan.
In addition, it would not be a correct approach to think that the demands made by the United States of America about the detention of Afghans working on behalf of the USA and for their NGOs in Turkey, and now the inferences made on the letter of the British Secretary of Defense, are ordinary rumors. In addition, according to the statements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, such a request has not been received so far. What is understood from this article and comments is that these issues will come before us soon. Saying yes to such demands would mean a great threat and danger for Turkey. It would be naive to describe these arrivals as ordinary human activities, to put it simply.
In conclusion, Turkey is not a concentration camp for immigrants. Turkey does not have a duty to rally behind the global powers. Turkey has to adjust a human and political balance. Otherwise, the problem is rapidly going towards an unmanageable dimension. It should be kept in mind that the main purpose of demographic change is to free up space and spread the problem to other countries. First of all, Turkey should not take the wrong steps that will bring the external problems into itself. It should not be deduced from here that it should be indifferent to problems. The USA and the UK cannot drown the Islamic world in blood and tears and then tell our men to act as guards. Even if such an issue comes to the table, this demand should not be met. If Turkey is going to stay in Afghanistan, it should continue to stay there with its own will and its own road map, upon the common demand of the Afghan people, for the purpose of building peace and tranquility. Given the size of the game, no one should make the fatal mistake of paving the way to hell with good intentions on the issue of immigrants.
