Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the United States (USA) House of Representatives, continues to make a name for herself. Acting as secretary of state, she began to shape US foreign policy more than Secretary Antony Blinken did. The fact that it is in the third place in the American protocol is also considered binding for its interlocutors. More recently, her visit to Taiwan was at the top of the world agenda. Top evaluations such as whether a world war would break out were also on the agenda. China's exercises to intimidate Taiwan had been discussed for days. All of this happened before and after Pelosi's visit was scheduled.
In addition, Pelosi took the stage in the ongoing tense relations between Turkey and Greece. Greek Prime Minister Kriyakos Mitsotakis went to the United States last May, gave a speech in the House of Representatives headed by Pelosi, and his speech was applauded 37 times. To the surprise of Mitsotakis, he was even applauded standing up. After this visit of Mitsotakis, Greece has taken a more reckless attitude in raising tensions. Greece thinks that the USA is on their side under all circumstances. Of course, President Joe Biden's policy was decisive in all these processes, but Pelosi-type diplomacy provided significant support for the spread of this policy among the people.
Pelosi recently came to the fore with her visit to Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. The fact that this visit was after the Azerbaijan-Armenia tension had a special meaning. Especially his sobbing crying during his visit to the so-called genocide monument preceded his other messages. She described Azerbaijan as an "aggressive country". He declared that they are literally on the side of Armenia in the developments in the South Caucasus.
Pelosi's statement that "As a member of the Minsk Group, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will make diplomatic efforts for a just and permanent settlement of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the Karabakh issue" was really interesting. It was recorded as a typical American double standard that he first accused Azerbaijan of aggression, said that they stood by Armenia under any circumstance, and then talked about a "just and lasting solution".
At this point, it is useful to state a well-known fact. Especially the USA and France centered Armenian diaspora is the biggest obstacle in front of Armenia. As long as Armenia does not get rid of their influence, it will never be able to look to the future with confidence. This visit of Pelosi before the November 8 Congressional midterm elections is nothing but a salute to the Armenian lobby in the USA.
Especially in this regard, the main task of Armenia and then the countries of the region is to save the problems of this region from being the cards in the hands of Washington, Paris, Brussels and Moscow. Only then can peace be possible. As Pelosi's tears turn into tools of abuse, common sense vanishes. The peoples of both Greece and Armenia should prevent the US from seeing themselves as a "backyard" and should act in accordance with the fact that this is the biggest obstacle to peace in the region.
