In the historical process, being open to more or less material and moral external attacks has always been an important area of discussion in all developing or underdeveloped countries. In addition, there is a belief that the features of developed countries in the social and political fields in which they are strong are sometimes exposed to the attack of external actors.

For example, the propaganda that the United States was exposed to during the Cold War became physical with the September 11, 2001 attacks, and it was claimed that there were cyber attacks in the 2016 presidential elections. Although it was later revealed that there was no interference in the electoral system, American politicians at that time always talked about "foreign intervention" and attacks and claimed that the society was tried to be polarized in various ways. By the way, it should be noted that the famous movie Jaws (Sharks), directed by Steven Spielberg in 1975, entered the political literature as a movie that appeals to the subconscious of the American people. Although it may be seen as an innocent thriller scenario from the outside, it is thought to be far from everyone and safe, but the idea that the USA will one day be attacked by foreign enemies has been processed in the minds of Americans with films like this one. As a matter of fact, the events of September 11 fulfilled this prophecy. It is as if the American people were attacked innocently, living on their own, as if the rest of the world had not been subjected to any kind of persecution. The debates about fiction or reality have happened to the people who lost their lives in those towers in these attacks, which are still going on even in the USA. Already in the movie Sharks, sea animals do not attack people unless they intervene in their own habitats. However, the Americans did not engage in this side of the issue, but directly defended themselves through the attacks of sharks.

There are also examples from other countries with the perception of external threat. For example, the Australian state claims that China's internal politics, democratic structure, sometimes education, sometimes health, but often spying on ethnic groups. Similarly, the Canadian state is taking measures to meet these possible attacks by making high expenses, with the argument that its democracy and electoral systems may be attacked. The European Union, on the other hand, always keeps alive the possibility of espionage, interference in its financial systems, and attacks on its strategic economic productions and democratic systems that may come from "foreign", "foreign" or "third countries". It is a repeated rhetoric that the disintegration or destabilization of the union is always present as a danger and threat. In summary, in developed Western countries, we act with the perception that democracies are a valuable asset and that there is always the possibility of an attack, if not an attack, at least an intervention.

However, it is quite normal for every state to try to protect the assets it owns and sees as valuable. If we make an evaluation over our country, it is certainly a situation to be afraid that foreign powers try to shake something precious that we do not have, even if they cannot completely capture something that we do not have. In addition, it is known that foreign policy has been used as a means of persuading the voters in domestic politics for many years in Turkey. Political propaganda for domestic politics, the perception that it is full of those who are jealous of us from the outside and enemies who want to harm our country sometimes also provide the desired results.

Unlike developed democratic countries, our democracy is not directly targeted, but some of our investments and some of our unique features are envied by everyone. However, in every situation where our country's economy is shaken most and most frequently, there is always an "attack of foreign powers". For example, former US President Donald Trump's social media posts about Turkey's economy are presented as evidence of this, but some people do not think to ask the question of what kind of a strong economy it is shaken by a tweet. Thus, with such examples, it is tried to convince the society that there is a foreign intervention behind every failure in economic indicators. Blaming foreign powers for every negative event that occurs in the country may convince the public for a while, but the constant repetition of this discourse will make people increasingly tired. As a matter of fact, the impact of such statements has been decreasing lately and people consider them as messages to domestic politics.

Of course, every country will follow a foreign policy in line with its own interests and will not want some to develop in the economic and military fields. In terms of international relations, this is understandable. It is also predictable that an important country like Turkey is also targeted by some countries and intelligence organizations. Moreover, Turkey, this geography has always been the target of such threats for millennia. At this point, the main things to do are; to develop in all aspects, to increase competitiveness against others and to have an infrastructure that deters those who threaten. By the way, there is something we always say; No country that cannot protect its internal peace cannot be as strong as it should be against external threats. Inner peace comes first.

As a result, in a country where a tweet, a statement or a foreign development upsets the foreign exchange markets and the economy, it means that important problems have accumulated somewhere. Intellectuals and anyone who feels responsible for this state of affairs should first question how our country has become such an open target for "attacks" or interventions.
