Significant developments are taking place nowadays in order to solve the problems between the Gulf countries since June 2017. As it is known, 3 years ago, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain accused Qatar of being the "protector of terrorism", therefore they put forward their demands in 13 articles. Among the headlines ahead of this demand closure of military bases in Qatar, Turkey, to limit relations with Iran, the closure of Al-Jazeera TV channel and had not given support to the Houthis in Yemen. On the other hand, after Abdulfettah Sisi came to power in Egypt with a military coup, Qatar became an important refuge center for the members of the Muslim Brotherhood who could leave the country. At the same time, HAMAS members who left Syria with the Arab Spring process started to live in Qatar. These were at the center of the terrorism charges. Of course, when Qatar did not accept these demands, an embargo decision was taken. It will be recalled that period had been made for full installation support, notably food ships from Turkey, Qatar. This process also because of what happened in Turkey, Iran and Qatar uninsured name had formed an alliance.

While these have been happening in the past three years, today Kuwait and the United States of America (USA) have begun to take initiative to overcome the crisis in the region. In this direction, there are serious attempts to end the ongoing problems between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. US President Donald Trump's Special Envoy to the Middle East, Jared Kushner, who is also his son-in-law, is at the key of these talks. When Kushner is involved, it is not possible to consider all these mediation steps independently from Israel. Kushner, who is the architect of the UAE and Bahrain's normalization agreements with Israel, is actually trying to carry the mood in favor of Israel in the region with these mediation initiatives. There is a dilemma right here in this business. If the Gulf countries are solving their problems, it is necessary to be pleased, yes. But what does the USA, which solves these problems, hope from this? Should an answer be sought for the question of what is its expectation, and that is yes.

Well, how do we get out of this business now? Let's try to find a way together.

As will be remembered, it was alleged that last month, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman had secretly met in Saudi Arabia. It is highly probable that the attempts to reconcile the Gulf countries might have some connection with this secret meeting. As such, other questions now come to mind. I wonder how Turkey is looking to this meeting? In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs last Friday, messages "appreciating Kuwait's efforts", "resolving the conflict immediately through unconditional dialogue" and "support for Qatar" were given. These statements are only understandable Turkey-Qatar relations after that time still have not found the answer to the question of where will evolve. As we stated in our article last Sunday, is Qatar now called "choose the side"? "Economic connect itself as Turkey did enough. You took it on an irreversible path. We do not know whether they will say their last words to Qatar by saying, "Bring what they get, put them on the table." Or Turkey, did you want to repair relations with the Gulf countries via Qatar, we do not know it. However, there is one thing we know. If that scenario of peace is written by those who brought up that problem, it should be taken into account that there is a catch. Otherwise, big disappointments may occur.
