Putin was in Turkey yesterday. He participated in the ceremony which was organized due to the completion of the part of the TurkStream project under the sea.

First of all, I wish it would be good.

Turkey's energy problems with this ceremony were discussed.

So, what is the TurkStream? Is there value to Turkey will contribute to both economic and political terms? If so, what are they? Let us briefly talk about these points.

First, it is worth remembering that the TurkStream project was brought up by Putin in 2014. Parallel to each other, the lower part of the Black Sea is 937 km and the total is 1100 km. Line One to Turkey, while the other was designed to bring gas to Europe. The investments of this project were made by Russia.

The reason for the realization of the TurkStream was the EU blocked the South Stream project, which Russia was planning to export to Europe via pre-2014 Bulgaria. That is an area open to it on behalf of the Western countries through Turkey against Putin offered to this project. Nevertheless, the debates on Ukraine and the Crimean issue formed the political infrastructure of the Turkish Stream project.

When we as a nation we sometimes like to live events at the ends, as if the Turkish Stream project was actually delivered to such a perception. It cannot be said that it is a useless investment, and the evaluations as if we flew away can prevent us from seeing the whole photo.

You ask why? I'll try to testify.

Turkey meets approximately 32 percent from natural gas and natural gas in total energy requirements totally dependent on outside case. A little more than half of the imported natural gas is supplied by Russia. A total of 30 billion cubic meters of gas Russia delivers to Turkey via two lines. One of them is known as the Blue Stream and the other comes from Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria. The Blue Stream contains 16 billion and the other line includes the remaining 14 billion. It is planned to pump about 16 billion cubic meters of gas with the TurkStream. This line continuing from existing lines will be canceled when it is fully opened and again over Ukraine will have reached approximately the same amount that is 30-32 billion cubic meters of gas to Turkey.

Who will win with this result?

First of all, Putin will reach his goal politically, punish Ukraine, and show that he is not without an alternative against the West over South Stream.

So, what will be Turkey's gain? Land line already ongoing in Turkey, where the gas does not come late due to problems in countries such as the amount of gas that continued to the present distress with the direct encounter will continue to do so. At the same time, another 16 billion cubic meters of gas, which will be sold to Europe from the other part of the line in the future, will also be economically profitable.

Current projects on the agenda of Turkey showed once more that the true itself, being dependent on foreign energy Turkey will continue to squeeze every respect. The way to get rid of this situation is to have nuclear energy. However, if the Turkey based partially thrown from Akkuyu, in April, he continues to talk to other nuclear power projects.

You know, 'crazy project' rhetoric that we're used to hearing lately, these nuclear power plants come at the beginning of the project that deserves this title. We have to activate these investments as soon as possible. Otherwise, we will have spent years without gaining anything except being a bridge to energy.
