As you know, when it is said Warsaw the first thing comes to mind is Cold War. Warsaw Pact was the name of the union formed by Iron Curtain countries against NATO. Recently, Warsaw’s name is called with other associations. On February 14 the day of the Sochi Summit when Turkey, Russia and Iran brought together, US held an another meeting in Warsaw on 13-14 February. The subject of the meeting was Middle East. The announced agenda of that meeting, led by US and Polond is stated as “Peace and Security in Middle East”. But, as everyone knew, Iran was at the centre of the agenda. The countries participating at the ministerial level were: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco, Tunusia, Oman, Yemen, Jordan and Egypt. If we state that Netanyahu participated too, we will understand more clearly what the purpose of the US has set for the meeting. The purpose that Netanyahu stated as “Arab countries will sit with Israel to discuss the fight with Iran which is our common interest” made it clear what they meant by saying ‘Peace and Security’.

After Trump’s withdrew from the nuclear deal with P5+1 countries with Iran, the European countries which have difference in the method of Iran especially German and France were not represented by ministers in addition the UK’s participation at the ministerial level, being careful not to be seen as playing a corner catcher was an important detail of the meeting. Besides, the fact that the US joined the meeting at the level of Vice President Mike Pence and Secretary of State Pompeo was a sign of the importance of the meeting for US. With a sense of participating at the level of envoy, Turkey tried to establish a balance between Warsaw and Sochi. Russia, China, Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon did not attend the meeting.

Iran was not already invited. In fact, the process that started with Astana has made an important contribution to Iran in the international area. Namely, on the one hand, there is the Trump administration which is trying to redesign the Middle East by an Israel-based road map. On the other hand, there are some steps Turkey, Russia and Iran wants to take as long to be based on Syria. Of course, the confusions Turkey has are creating question marks from time to time in the direction of how will this process continue. So while examining the ground about “Safe Zone” with the US, Turkey tries to preserve the relationships with Trump by thinking that America will pull its soldiers from Syria.

With the latest statement by the US that 400 troops will remain in Syria, those hands who shout glory nars with the first promise of Trump’s withdrawal remained empty once again. However, it was impossible not to see that all of these discussions were the turning of the ball in the empty space. If we were the ones whom control the game, we could have a clear understanding of this situation if we acted with the goal of achieving this goal in a planned manner. However the US is trying to spread its presence to the whole Middle East with the Warsaw meeting and with the game is build by itself, it tries to control everything in order to keep Israel safe. At this point, we need to think well together about the processes that started with the Great Middle East and the Arab Spring brought us to where. When you analyze the Islamic countries participated in Warsaw, you can better understand how the Great Middle East divides Muslims over the ethnic and sectarian differences and makes them be obliged to it. America will conduct orcestra and the Islamic countries will dig a pit for each other. This is exactly the message that the US tried to make at the Warsaw meeting. So, here is your new Middle East.
