The "Hoşhanlı Golden Apricot Awards" were held at Malatya Congress Culture Center Kemal Hall by the Announcers Platform Announcers World.
At the Golden Apricot Awards Ceremony, held for the third time this year, Milli Gazete Editor-in-Chief Mustafa Kurdaş selected as the best journalist of the year.
In the program attended by many names from the media and art community, the Golden Apricot Awards found their owners.
Mustafa Kurdaş, who was selected as the best journalist of the year, addressed the participants of the program on the stage he went out to receive his award.
Stating that fairness should be prioritized based on the understanding of journalism and the understanding of rights-based news, Mustafa Kurdaş made important notes in the history of journalism.
“I AM A JOURNALIST WHO CAN OBSERVE THE DEVELOPMENT IN MALATAYA”
Mustafa Kurdaş, Editor-in-Chief of Milli Gazete, who made the award speech, said, "Thank you all so much. I am a journalist who comes to Malatya frequently. I am a journalist who can observe the development in Malatya."
“JOURNALISM IS A PROFESSION THAT CAN BE MADE WITH LOVE AND PASSION”
Mustafa Kurdaş stated that professions are beautiful when they are used to dominate the good and the right.
"Journalism is not a sacred profession. Journalism is a profession that can be done with love and passion. In fact, no profession is sacred. If you do not do what you do for the sake of the good, the beautiful, the just, the right and the beneficial to humanity, your profession is an incomplete one. Generally, blessings are attributed to the profession of journalism or to other professions, such as the profession of imamate. In fact, it is good if the good, the beautiful, the just and the truth are built in a way that will be beneficial to people on earth while doing every profession," Kurdaş said.
“There is no such thing as neutrality in journalism”
Mustafa Kurdaş underlined that there is no such thing as impartiality in the profession of journalism.
"I have been a journalist for 30 years. While we were studying at Ankara Communication Faculty, our professors used to describe impartiality and objectivity in their communication theory. However, it should be known that there is no such thing as impartiality in the profession. Every newspaper and journalist, every television and broadcaster has a side. If a person has a soul and a heart on him, he must have an opinion. It is not a shame to be a party, but if there is fairness, that person can do good journalism. Being fair is good, but whoever says that I am an impartial journalist or an impartial broadcaster, we are wrong and we mislead. That's why fair publishing is important," Kurdaş added.
“JOURNALISM MUST BE DONE WITH THE PUBLIC BENEFIT”
Mustafa Kurdaş underlined that journalism is not a profession built to slander and slander.
"The concept of ethics is also used in professions. This is what we call journalism ethics. There is a field called ethics, but do you know what is more encompassing? It is moral. Morality encompasses all ethics. Although journalism is biased, it is good if it is done ethically. This also applies to other professions. Journalism should be done in the public interest, without defamation and slander. Journalism is for the public interest. We have always tried to keep this in mind. I hope all of us together build a moral and friendly society together. Stay with all of you, greetings to the Golden Apricot and the gold of Malatya," he stated.
