Karim Khan, the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), who visited the refugees in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, announced that the difficulty in reaching Myanmar prevented the investigation of the genocide against the Rohingya Muslims.
After the visit of the 10-member delegation, which met with Rohingya Muslims fleeing from Myanmar in the refugee camps in the southern region of Cox's Bazar, Khan led the team.
The difficulty in reaching Myanmar prevents the investigation of genocide allegations against Rohingya Muslims.
Expressing that he even has access to Ukraine, but not to Myanmar, Khan said that this situation makes it difficult to collect evidence.
Saying that Rohingya Muslims have been living in refugee camps for 6 years, he regrets that no action has been taken against the Myanmar army, which is responsible for crimes in Myanmar.
Khan said that he promised the Rohingya Muslims he met to visit the region again next year.
Khan also called for international assistance for the refugees, saying that the Bangladesh government is not solely responsible for the refugees.
