In a press release on Hamas’ 32nd anniversary, Abu Marzouq reiterated the necessity to allow all segments of the Palestinian people at home and abroad to vote in Palestinian elections, noting that the National Council election abroad is “inevitable.”
Abu Marzouq stressed the necessity for the Palestinian people to stick to the option of resistance as “a non-waivable tool” to liberate Palestine, release Palestinian detainees from Israeli prisons, and regain the Palestinian refugees’ right to return to their homeland.
The senior Hamas official called on Arab and Muslim nations to back the Palestinian struggle against the occupation.
Abu Marzouq saluted the Palestinian people at home and abroad, saying: “Our people are still fighting off the Israeli occupation everywhere; Jerusalem’s Palestinian residents are still facing off judaization with all of its forms and the Palestinians in the West Bank are protecting the Palestinian identity and human dignity despite all attempts to grab their lands and legalise settlement activity.”
As he hailed the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip for their great sacrifices in spite of the long-standing siege and Israeli offensives on the impoverished enclave, Abu Marzouq saluted Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons who spend their lives behind bars for the sake of the Palestinian cause.
Describing them as “freedom ambassadors”, Abu Marzouq praised the Palestinians living in the diaspora, adding: “Despite the suffering and restrictions they face, they haven’t forgotten their lands and cause and are still dreaming of returning to their homeland, from which they were forcibly displaced.”
Abu Marzouq expressed his gratitude to the Arab and Muslim countries for supporting the Palestinian people in spite of the tough conditions they are going through these days.
