The terrorist attack that took place in Taksim once again revealed how fragile and sensitive our country is in a geography. It has been seen again that we have become the target of groups who want to design our country, and how high we are likely to enter a great tunnel of fear and violence.
The explosion caused a great deal of anxiety and fear in the community. People will be worried about crowded places and places where everyone flocks. Previously, we were exposed to bombing attacks targeting civilians in Ankara Train Station, Kızılay, Suruç and other points in a similar way. Our memory is revived by the bad days of the past.
What is frightening is the idea of the "election scenario" that was spoken after the explosion, and nobody could say such a thing could happen. We have to avoid daily calculations and simple interests for the national interests of our country. We believe that a person's life is more valuable than all the choices in the world, that to kill one person is to kill all of humanity.
The Istiklal Street explosion was an attack that nullified the measures taken across the country. This attack, which took place in the heart of Turkey in an environment where there are cameras at the entrances and exits of all provinces and districts, where people are searched one by one with gendarmerie and police checkpoints at the entrances of every settlement, and where there are many civilian intelligence officers, created a terrible fear. One of the aims of terrorism is to spread fear and fill the minds with question marks.
DANGER THAT CANNOT BE PREVENTED DESPITE MEASURES
It is not possible to understand how such an explosion could occur at a time when the security controls we are accustomed to in daily life are normalized, we live a purely police life, MOBESE cameras, advanced technical devices and state-of-the-art search tools. The horror and the immediate capture of the terrorist brought hundreds of questions in people's minds. It was once again understood that security measures should be taken at the borders, not in the heart of the city.
We are in a process where xenophobia is triggered by the events, while the demographic structure of city centers is deteriorating uncontrollably. Even in a city like Istanbul, millions of foreign nationals can reach and take shelter. Today, people from many countries whose ancestry, ancestry, temperament do not know can easily enter. It has been understood that our most important problem of survival is not the existence of the opposition, but the lack of control of our borders. It is clear that the claims of those who try to define the problem of survival only through the opposition are empty and invalid. As seen from the posts on social media, it is clear that human smugglers use our country as a route to go to Europe or stop in Turkey. It is not possible to identify which of them is the victim, which is the oppressed, and which is the terrorist. Moreover, such a determination cannot be made on immigrants who are not fully registered.
THE CHALLENGE FOR ALL TO SEE!
Perhaps it is obvious that the insecurity of our borders is more obvious than in its history. Uncontrolled accepting people who do not conform to the customs and lifestyle of our country, which has thousands of years of history, culture and tradition, will/will bring many problems with it.
“There are so many terrorists in the country. It has been revealed that confident statements such as "Everything is under our control, we know everything from the shoe size of terrorists" to nothing more than heroism. Unfortunately, the country is not managed by managing perceptions, it had to face the reality.
The fact that the attack took place close to the election, that it was after HDP negotiations, etc. We leave the allegations aside. On the one hand, the fact that they said that they do not accept America's condolences and that they were spoken to on the same day, and that the President accepted his condolences against the Minister's different expression emerges as another contradiction. It is also a separate problem that the superior and the subordinate have different attitudes or are disconnected from each other.
Every soul that goes away takes a piece of our hearts. Peace in the country is deteriorating, and the worry that it will become more difficult to live in safety prevails.
SOCIAL MEDIA RESTRICTION AND POSTING BANS
Measures such as restricting social media and imposing a broadcast ban immediately after such an event are not the solution. The main problem is the uncontrolled social media network. No matter how much you block it, everything is already accessible through social media. These prohibitions only increase information pollution. It is important that the decision-making mechanisms are transparent and provide healthy information to the public. Possible manipulations will be prevented when managers share the information they have accurately and quickly and inspire confidence in people.
When all these are put on top of each other, we know that domestic and foreign policy needs to be reconsidered in order to ensure the security of the country. Adhering to the law, avoiding illegal acts, taking vital measures considering that Turkey is on a migration route are essential for establishing peace.
Is our country punishing for its mistakes in the context of domestic and foreign policy? It is not known whether the occasional challenge is paid for, but in the final analysis, it is the civilian population, children and innocent people who pay the price.
After all, terrorism is not so simple as to be used as a domestic policy material. In particular, what is meant by an expression such as “We have received the message” should be explained. Efforts to turn the situation into an opportunity, word of mouth, and threats will not get you anywhere. It is extremely important to be more careful so that these sufferings do not recur, to set aside internal conflicts, and to produce healthy solutions instead of dry fights.
We wish a quick recovery to the injured, God's mercy to our citizens who lost their lives, and patience to their families, with the hope that such incidents will not happen again in our country.
