While there are 3 months left until March 31, when the local elections will be held, all eyes are on the metropolitan candidates to be announced by the AK Party.

AK Party, which examines the candidates for the metropolitan municipalities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, continues its cooperation negotiations with its alliance partners MHP, YRP, BBP and HUDA-PAR.

The AK Party, which has accelerated its efforts in the election campaign, is expected to announce the candidates in January.

As the countdown begins for the local elections expected to be held in March, the candidate names of the AK Party are beginning to become clear.

It continues to negotiate with MHP, BBP, YRP, HUDA-PAR and DSP through commissions for cooperation in metropolitan cities.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED IN MID-JANUARY

With only three months left until the local elections, all eyes are on the mayoral candidates to be announced by the political parties.

AK Party, which carries out election campaigns and slogans, has completed its candidate studies for the whole of Turkey, especially in 30 metropolitan cities.

While it is known that President Erdoğan has put in his pocket the candidate names determined according to party trends and reports from organizations, he has accelerated the preparations for the campaign processes, especially the strategy to be followed during the election period.

ERDOĞAN WILL ANNOUNCE THE CANDIDATES

As a result of the agreement reached with the MHP, the AK Party will nominate candidates in 28 metropolitan cities other than Mersin and Manisa, and its work has intensified on Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir.

While the 'From Ankara' rule draws attention in determining the candidate in Ankara, the list of candidates in Istanbul has narrowed considerably, with names such as Tevfik Göksu, Murat Kurum, Mehmet Ergün Turan.

While the candidates are expected to be introduced for the launch of the campaign, it is stated that President Erdoğan will announce the candidates with the launch program to be held in mid-January.

Negotiations continue through commissions with the AK Party, BBP, YRP and HUDA-PAR, who want to protect the People's Alliance in the local elections in the presidential elections.

AK Party wants its candidates to be supported in metropolitan cities, and inter-party studies regarding the districts planned to be given in return for support are continuing.

It is stated that the AK Party, which does not want to give away too many districts in this process, has difficulty in continuing the cooperation it provided in the general elections.

While the claim that there are no problems regarding BBP and HUDA-PAR is talked about behind the scenes, it is stated that there are some disagreements with YRP.

While it was stated that there were cracks between the two parties after YRP voted 'no' to the 2024 budget, it was a matter of curiosity whether there would be cooperation between the two parties, especially in Istanbul.
