Yusuf Tekin, the newly appointed Minister of National Education, made some statements regarding the issue of not consulting the 'stakeholders of education', which is one of the most important criticisms of the previous ministers of National Education.
Tekin stated that he will always meet with the teachers and that he will discuss with every stakeholder of education in all decisions to be taken.
Educators, on the other hand, called for teachers to resolve all existing problems, especially the Law on the Teaching Profession, by consulting all stakeholders as soon as possible.
While many problems in the field of education could not be solved despite the changes in ministers in the last 20 years, education stakeholders frequently brought up the demand for the problems to be resolved through consultations.
After the elections, the newly appointed Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin made statements about the path to be followed in the field of education.
Tekin stated that they will come together with the stakeholders in every field of education and find solutions to the problems.
Education stakeholders called for this step to be positive, but not like unfinished business in the past.
“WE WILL MAKE DECISION WITH TEACHERS, STUDENTS, PARENTS AND STAKEHOLDERS”
Tekin met with teachers and students at a school in Ankara's Gölbaşı district and chatted with educators.
Tekin stated that they will not only remember teachers on Teachers' Day, but that they will always be together with teachers, and that they will implement the decisions they will take together with teachers, students, parents and other stakeholders.
“OPINIONS MUST BE REALLY VALUED AND USED IN IMPLEMENTATION”
Evaluating the statements of Minister Tekin to Milli Gazete, the Chairman of the Conscious Teachers Association (ÖĞ-DER), Hamdi Sürücü, reminded the "opinion-taking" systems that were carried out together with the teachers in the past.
"Consulting with education stakeholders is an important step. Here, unions, associations, teachers must be included in the work. Opinions were received from 1 million teachers before, but this situation could not be improved and there was no response in practice. From now on, it is important to carry out studies that are worthwhile and to find solutions to the problems, and that the opinions of the stakeholders are truly valued and used in practice," Sürücü said.
