Yusuf Yazgan, Chairman of Bureau Memur-Sen, who made evaluations about the request, "The pandemic process has changed the natural routine of life, such as the postponement of the legally scheduled meetings and general assemblies of non-governmental organizations. Necessary legal and digital infrastructure should be established in order to hold general assemblies online in digital environment," he said.
"NGOs are in trouble"
Stating that with the difficulties brought by the epidemic to working life, some institutions have started to carry out many activities online, Yazgan, "Non-governmental organizations are experiencing difficulties due to the cancellation or postponement of the board or general assembly meetings with a legal schedule and the decisions that cannot be taken on time. The pandemic process we are in shows that it will not be possible for us to return to the high-contact lifestyle we were used to before. As a result of this, digitalization must be reconsidered by every individual and every institution and transformed into a lifestyle," he added.
NECESSARY LEGAL ARRANGEMENT SHOULD BE MADE
Citing the exams in the digital environment with the opportunities provided in the field of education as an example, Yazgan stated that it is necessary to establish the legal regulation and digital infrastructure required for the union general assemblies to be held online in the digital environment.
