The meeting, which was closed to the press and hosted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, lasted approximately 1 hour.
The delegations of "Türk-İş" representing the workers and the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK) representing the employers attended the meeting chaired by the General Manager of Labour, Sadettin Akyıl.
After the meeting, Veli Solak, Chairman of the Turkish Haber-İş Union, made a statement to the press on behalf of the "Türk-İş" delegation.
Stating that "Türk-İş" Chairman Ergün Atalay attended the funeral of the workers who were martyred in the explosion at the Rocket and Explosives Factory of the Machinery and Chemical Industry, Solak said:
"We want the talks to end before the holiday. There is no date for the second meeting. It could be tomorrow, it could be the next day. Our request as Türk-İş is for this meeting to end as soon as possible. We want the minimum wage to be updated according to the conditions of the day, according to the economic crisis, according to the house rents, according to the cost of living."
