Saadet Party Headquarters Women's Branch Chairman Nurgül Beytiye Ekinci noted at the press conference that child abuse was clearly shown in a dialogue between two children in the TV series "Sakla Beni" broadcast on Star TV.

Ekinci reacted to the fact that the scene in the series was staged in a way that could trigger trauma for the child actors and viewers and called on RTÜK.

“THE WEIRD PART IS THAT CHILDREN'S RIGHTS DEFENDERS HAVE NO VOICE.”

Drawing attention to the broadcasted scene, Ekinci emphasized that the series was broadcast in prime time without any warning at the beginning.

"While children are dying of hunger in Africa, of fascism in East Turkestan, of genocidal bombs in Palestine, my country's children are being killed by being used as materials for sexuality and immorality. The strange thing is that institutions and organizations that defend children's rights do not speak out about this incident. That's enough, we won't sacrifice our children to your immorality," Ekinci said.

“WE SEE THAT RTUK IS INSUFFICIENT IN THIS ISSUE”

Reminding that child abuse, violence against children and women, slang expressions and encouraging alcohol consumption are shown in many broadcast TV series and productions, Ekinci underlined that content such as family destruction and violation of cultural and moral values are not adequately controlled in the productions.

"We see that RTÜK is inadequate in this context. We invite the relevant institutions to do their job to prevent this from happening again. Where is RTÜK, the addressee of the issue, and why did the Ministry of Family and Social Services not follow up on this?" Ekinci added.

“YOU WANT TO SACRIFICE OUR CHILDREN, LIKE WOMEN AND YOUTH”

Underlining that the family structure and values are damaged by such content, Ekinci stated that the family institution is undermined and moral values are destroyed.

"Thanks to these series and television programs made for the sake of ratings, the theme of sexuality has unfortunately been reduced to children. It is unacceptable to expose our children, who need protection in every respect, to these contents, or even to make them the objects of these contents. Take your hands off our children. As if women and young people being sacrificed for money and ratings were not enough, now you want to sacrifice our children," Ekinci said.

"A CRIMINAL COMPLAINT WILL BE FILED AGAINST THE RELATED PERSONS"

Expressing that they, as Saadet Party Women's Branch, will not allow these situations, Ekinci underlined that they will not remain silent when children are exposed to abuse.

"As the Saadet Party, we hereby declare that we will do our best to remove this series, which extends the theme of sexuality to children, from the air, and that we will file a criminal complaint against the relevant persons and institutions, the TV channel, the production company and the director," Ekinci added.
