While the inequality in income distribution deepens, millions of citizens struggle to survive under the hunger and poverty line. Consumer Rights Association Chairman Turhan Çakar, 16 million people starving in Turkey, 48 million people were stating that struggle for life below the poverty line, "81 million inhabitants, on top of just 17 million people in poverty in Turkey. The minimum wage has to go above the poverty line." he said.
With the start of negotiations at the Minimum Wage Detection Commission, the income inequality in the country came back on the agenda. The road map of the government towards consumption and imports deepened the injustice in income distribution, and it was revealed that the people did not grow at all from imaginary growth. More than 16 million people, 20 percent of the population living below the hunger limit, while 60 percent of the population living below the poverty line, the 48 million people were identified. 81 million inhabitants make up 80 percent of the country's 64 million people in Turkey gives life struggling under the poverty line.
Injustice in the distribution of income interrupts the struggle for life. When the Turk-Is 'hunger and poverty' dealt with the analysis of the data of the consumer associations, Turkey, where the struggle for survival under the poverty line, 80 percent has been detected. Speaking to our newsletter Consumer Rights Association Chairman Turhan Çakar, "20 percent of Turkey's is under hunger line, while 60 percent live below the poverty line. This situation means that 80 percent live below the poverty line. The 20 percent cut is not hungry and poor. 20 percent cuts the pattern. It sets the economic policy. Taxes were cut by 80 percent, while 20 percent of the salt is dry." he said.
Turkey's economic policy for the consumption of the "scandal" as reviewers Çakar, "Taking into account all these facts, especially the minimum wage is the natural right of all employees to create the conditions to live in dignity. In addition, the elimination of unemployment, hunger and poverty are the most justified expectations and rights of those in this situation. For this, it is obvious that current economic and social policies and production, distribution and consumption policies must be changed immediately." he added.
Stating that the wrong economy policies are applied, Çakar emphasized that the minimum wage should be above the poverty line. Çakar, underlining that people should live happily, he continued:
"The majority of the people in Turkey make their living on the minimum wage. Hunger and poverty are increasing. The biggest reason for this is the economic crisis. The economic crisis will continue. Because misappropriation policies are being implemented. Policies that are not in favor of the public are being implemented. Already 80 percent of the society is a weak segment. The wrong social economic policies are being hit by the weak sector." he said.
