HELBROC is a military force formed by states affiliated with the Orthodox sect of Christianity under the auspices of the European Union. This power takes its name from the initials of the member states. It consists of Hellenic (Greece) HEL, Bulgarian B, Romanian R, Greek Cypriot (Cyprs) letter C. Greece is the leader of this power. Founded in 2006 under the leadership of Greece, Ukraine in 2011 and Serbia in 2016 are joined HELBROC.
HELBROC CARRIES THE SAME EMBLEM AS THE EU
This power, led by Greece under the guidance of Europe, aims to gather the entire Orthodox world under a single military structure. It is not difficult to guess against whom this unit, also known as the Balkan War Force HELBROC BG, was established. The 12 stars on the blue background of this military force, which was established under the supervision of Europe and under the leadership of Greece, are the same as the 12 stars on the EU emblem. They do not hide this either, that the same ideals are shared, unity advertised on the flag.
1,500 SOLDIERS ARE KEPT READY
The purpose of the establishment of this military structure can be summarized as the coordination of the military forces of the member countries with each other, the development of the coordination of these forces and the intervention forces through joint exercises. It is aimed that HELBROC BG will intervene quickly and effectively in a turmoil and confusion to be experienced in member countries. In a sense, we can define this structure as an emergency response force. 1,500 soldiers are kept ready for any negativity to be experienced by the member states.
IT HAS A SPIRITUAL SPECIFIC WEIGHT
Although the number of 1,500 people may sound small, this power, which was established under the leadership of Greece, has a spiritual weight. While Greece is reinforcing the title of "Ecumenical" in the minds of all Orthodox countries, it is making this title an umbrella for itself and is militarily becoming the older brother of Orthodox countries.
SUPPORT FROM US INFANTRY
HELBROC BG exercises on a certain calendar. In 2019, they held a military exercise in Greece. Konstantin Floros, who was appointed as the chief of general staff of Greece in 2020, was also present in the military exercise. Soldiers from the Greek Cypriot side, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Serbia participated in the exercise. It is known that American infantrymen also participated in the military training held in Novo Selo, Bulgaria in 2018. The main subject of the exercise held in Greece in 2008 was the rapid and effective intervention of the HELBROC BG forces in the internal turmoil on an island. HELBROC BG forces performed their keeping watch duty in Hasköy (Haskovo), Bulgaria, for 6 months in 2012.
