Speaking at the ceremony, OSTİM Technical University Rector Murat Yülek stated that Kutan has provided important services for Turkey, "Recai Kutan is an older brother and a pioneer. He is the anonymous hero of our dams in our country. He is the unnamed hero of the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP)," he said.
"Honorary Doctorate Ceremony and Commemoration Program for İdris Yamantürk" organized by OSTİM Technical University.
In the program, the title of honorary doctorate was granted to Recai Kutan, a member of the High Advisory Board of Saadet Party and the Chairman of the Economic and Social Researches Center (ESAM), who served in important positions in the National Opinion (Milli Görüş) parties and was formerly the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.
The program was attended by Saadet Party leader Temel Karamollaoğlu, AK Party Deputy Chairman Numan Kurtulmuş, Former Forestry and Water Affairs Minister Veysel Eroğlu, as well as deputies, deputy ministers, rectors and mayors.

OSTIM Technical University Rector Murat Yülek, "We need to appreciate our elders. We are glad that such people who developed this country increased. Our brother, Recai Kutan, is the politician of our country. It still continues its services and efforts. He is the president of ESAM today. It sets an example for us as well. We have to serve our people until the last moment of his life. He worked in politics for 40 years and minister for many years. Recai Kutan is an older brother and a pioneer. He made unforgettable services. He is the anonymous hero of our dams in our country. He is the unnamed hero of the GAP. On the other hand, it became a pioneer for the development of technical consultancy and engineering. Kutan has fought for the development of our country. He has sweated for the development of the country in the water and the countryside," he added.
KUTAN: "I THANK TO OSTIM UNIVERSITY"
ESAM President Recai Kutan started his speech by thanking OSTİM University and its Rector Murat Yülek for his honorary doctorate title.
Kutan thanked everyone who contributed to the establishment of OSTİM University, especially Orhan Aydın, and said that most of his life was spent on studies on water. Kutan, who told the memories of the State Hydraulic Works, conveyed the studies on the water problem experienced in the past years.
