‘Diyanet-Sen’ conveyed the concern that religious officials, who work hard during Ramadan, would not be able to fully prepare for the exam, and requested a correction.
‘Diyanet-Sen’ requested a new date from Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). After the ‘MBSTS’ exam, which only religious officials took, coincided with the month of Ramadan, ‘Diyanet-Sen’ Chairman Mehmet Ali Güldemir visited ÖSYM Vice President Cengiz Ceylan in his office and requested that the Religious Affairs Directorate (DİB) MBSTS, which is planned to be held on April 3, 2022, be taken before the month of Ramadan.
GÜLDEMİR: “LET IT MOVE BEFORE RAMADAN”
‘Diyanet-Sen’ Chairman Mehmet Ali Güldemir and Secretary General Hacıbey Özkan paid a visit to ÖSYM Vice President Cengiz Ceylan in his office at ÖSYM. Speaking during the visit, Güldemir stated that the Professional Knowledge Level Test (MBSTS) for the employees of the Religious Affairs Directorate, which is planned to be held by ÖSYM on April 3, 2022, coincides with the month of Ramadan, "You know, the month of Ramadan is a religious month. It is a busy month when religious officers perform services such as reciprocation, tarawih prayers, etc., in addition to their routine duties. Therefore, this intensity will negatively affect both our religious officials who will take the exam and the community benefiting from their services. For this reason, I think that applying the exam date earlier than the month of Ramadan will relieve both our religious officials and the congregation,” he said.
CEYLAN: “WE WILL REVIEW”
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit, ÖSYM Vice President Cengiz Ceylan said, “We organize many exams throughout Turkey. Our exam schedule is really full. We don't want to hurt anyone. We will review the issue. You can have no doubt that we will do what is necessary if we find a suitable time frame”.
