More than 100 kilograms (220 pounds) of heroin have been seized during anti-drug operations in Turkey's eastern province of Van, local police department said on Tuesday.
In a statement, Van Provincial Police Department said the operation targeted the drug traffickers who are funding the PKK/KCK terrorist group in Baskale and Edremit districts.
In Baskale district, anti-narcotics teams seized more than 92 kilograms (202 pounds) of heroin from a vehicle on Van-Hakkari highway.
During the operation, seven suspects were also apprehended on charges of "drug trafficking", the statement read.
In Edremit district, police confiscated over 8.8 kilograms (17.6 pounds) of heroin hidden in a pillow in a lorry.
Two suspects, including the lorry driver, were also detained during the operation, the statement added.
