Paid teachers are waiting for the problems related to personal rights to be resolved. While waged teachers, who are frequently on the agenda with their salaries below the minimum wage they receive, want the solution to the problem to be solved by permanent assignment. Levent Atasoy, President of the Paid Teachers Solidarity Association, called for the appointment of paid teachers, who have been giving education for years with various difficulties, to the village schools that are said to be opened.

90 THOUSAND PAID TEACHERS WAIT FOR SOLUTIONS

Pointing out that paid teachers struggle with many problems in the face of working conditions, Atasoy stated that the problems of teachers, especially regarding their personal rights, are waiting for a solution, and said, “The half insurance premium and the ridiculous wage they receive offend the teachers. Even though they do the same job in the same shift, the salary difference between them and their staff members is worse than the gap. The word paid is already the biggest pain. Its professional name was not even mentioned, even the ministry, it was affiliated with, could not fully describe it. We have become an industry. We reached the number of 90 thousand. We have become the most important soldier of education. 90 thousand of our paid teacher friends are waiting for a solution.”

“OUR FRIENDS NOW WANT AN APPOINTMENT, NOT REGULATION”

Expressing that paid teachers want to be appointed instead of regulation, Atasoy emphasized that the professional experience of those who have been working as paid teachers for years should be benefited, “We want an appointment. These friends of ours don't want regulation anymore. They want assignment now, with a life that has expired in hopes of regulation. With this knowledge and experience, they have reached the highest point in the professional sense. They had experience. They are waiting for the task. Being paid is no longer a solution for them,” he added.

“VILLAGE SCHOOLS HAVE NO OWNERS, GIVE A DUTY TO US, WE GO”

Reminding that the Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer announced that village schools will be opened in the past months, Atasoy stated that village schools can be evaluated for the appointment of paid teachers and said, “We want our friends who have given education to be given duties in village schools. Village schools are derelict. No permanent teacher wants to go. Give a task to us, let us go. We are ready. We want staff. We want an unconditional appointment according to the premium procedure for our friends who have completed 540 days of insurance premium and are graduated from the faculty of education or have formation.”
