The Palestinian Authority expressed its satisfaction with US President Joe Biden's statement that the "two-state solution" is the right process.

In the written statement made by the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, evaluations were made regarding the interview Biden gave to CNN television.

"The President of the United States has slapped the government of Benjamin Netanyahu in Israel with an unprecedented slap," the statement said.

It was noted that Biden stated that "the main reason for the growth of the crisis in the West Bank is the Netanyahu government, which is the most extremist government in the history of Israel."

The statement also noted the satisfaction with the statements that "The right process to move forward in the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is the two-state solution."

Underlining that Biden was against the policies of expanding Israeli settlements in the West Bank and saying "they shouldn't be there", the statement underlined that the US President's words in his interview were "a step in the right direction" and he was asked to translate his words into attitudes and actions.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry asked the US President to force the Israeli government to engage in a conciliatory political process towards a solution.

"We expect the Biden administration to fulfill its commitments to the Palestinian cause and to support the legal approaches of the State of Palestine in international forums," the statement added.
