15 Palestinians, who have health problems in Israeli prisons, decided to go on a 3-day hunger strike to protest their heavy detention conditions.

The Palestinian Prisoners Association has issued a written statement on the subject. In the statement, it was stated that 15 detainees living in the clinic of Remle Prison, who had health problems, decided to go on a hunger strike for 3 days starting from 25 May.

In the statement, it was stated that the number of patients in Israeli prisons has increased, the detainees are exposed to medical neglect and the provision of their basic needs is delayed.

In the statement, it was also emphasized that the hunger strike was "the most difficult step to make a decision" for sick prisoners.

PALESTINIAN PATIENT PRISONERS AND ISRAEL'S "MEDICAL NEGLECT"

According to data from the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Commission, there are 4,900 Palestinian detainees, 700 of whom are sick, in Israeli prisons.

After Palestinian prisoner Kheder Adnan died in prison on May 2, on the 87th day of his hunger strike against Israel's "administrative detention", Israel's practice of medical neglect against Palestinian prisoners came to the fore again.

Palestinian ill detainees in Israeli prisons, especially Walid Daqqa and Asef er-Refai, who have cancer, demand that the treatment they need should not be delayed and their medical follow-up should be intensified.

Sick detainees, who want to increase the number of meals, demand that food be given according to their health conditions.
