Palestinian prisoners started a hunger strike... 1,000 brave men send message to the world... The great prison resistance in Palestine has entered its first week. 1,000 Palestinian prisoners went on a hunger strike to oppose the systematic torture and spying of the Zionist administration in prisons. Nearly a thousand prisoners who went on hunger strike said, "We will never surrender," and revealed that they will continue their protests resolutely until the oppression ends.

PRISONS BLOCKADED!

Representatives of the Palestinian Prisoners Club and the Prisoner and Ex-Prisoner Affairs Commission, who informed our newspaper about the pressure applied in prisons, said: “Double isolation is applied to the detainees. Some parts of various prisons are not supplied with electricity. Forces called 'oppression units' were deployed at prison entrances. For intelligence work, systematic torture is applied and efforts are made to make the detainees become spy. On the other hand, pressure and humiliating practices against prisoners with police dogs are being done. These circumstances led to the start of hunger strike action.”

“HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS MUST ACT”

Emphasizing that the international community and all human rights organizations should take action regarding the hunger strike, which has completed its first week, the Palestinian Prisoners Club and the Prisoner and Ex-Prisoner Affairs Commission said, “The invading state's pressure on the prisoners must be prevented. Palestinian prisoners should not be left alone in the face of Zionist hatred and racism.”
