Upon the call of Saadet Party, CHP and other opposition party deputies, the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will convene for the second time this year to discuss the environmental massacre in the Akbelen forest.
While AKP and MHP deputies are not expected to enter the General Assembly hall during the roll call, they will attend the talks after the quorum is met.
In the call for an extraordinary meeting submitted to the Parliament with the signatures of Saadet, CHP, DEVA and Democrat Party deputies, following statement were used:
"Continuity of the massacres of nature made with the greed of profit, making a management approach hostile to green and the environment dominant, and 'Everyone has the right to live in a healthy and balanced environment' in Article 56 of the Constitution and 'No harm to forests' in Article 169. An extraordinary meeting is called for the purpose of discussing these massacres, which will affect not only the present but also the future generations, in our Assembly and informing the public."
AKP WILL NOT ATTEND THE MEETINGS
AKP deputies will be in the Assembly, but they will not participate in the roll call while the quorum is sought in the General Assembly.
If the opposition finds 200 deputies with a quorum for the meeting, then AKP deputies will participate in the negotiations.
If the meeting quorum is found in the General Assembly, the agenda will be discussed and the proposals of Saadet Party and CHP regarding Akbelen will be discussed.
Political party representatives with groups in the parliament will also express their opinions on the proposals.
