Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Numan Kurtulmuş visited MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli.

Kurtulmuş, in his statement in response to journalists' questions after the meeting held in Bahçeli's office in the Parliament, stated that he paid a return visit to MHP Chairman Bahçeli.

He stated that during their meeting, they shared ideas on the opening of the Parliament and that he thanked him for the support and trust he gave on behalf of himself and his group in his election as the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.

"WE WILL BE IN DIALOGUE"

Wishing that the Turkish Grand National Assembly will have a good working period in the new period, Kurtulmuş said that within the framework of democratic maturity and dialogue between the parties, the Turkish Grand National Assembly will handle all the issues before it in the best way and carry out its activities in line with the expectations of the nation.

Stating that he will visit all the party groups that came to visit him during this process, Kurtulmuş stated that they will both wish success to these groups in the new period and have the opportunity to discuss the main issues regarding the working period.

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli also wished success to the Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Kurtulmuş.

"WE MUST GET RID OF THE SEPTEMBER 12 CONSTITUTION"

Responding to a question about the new constitution, Kurtulmuş emphasized that the main thing on this issue is to present a well-intentioned attitude without prejudice.

Stating that Turkey now has a serious political accumulation and intellectual acquis on these issues, Kurtulmuş said:

"The issues that Turkey needs are clear. First of all, it is essential to get rid of the September 12 constitution, which is a coup constitution, and to continue these discussions on reasonable and legitimate grounds and get results, with everyone putting the cotton in their own baskets. Of course, the reasonable and legitimate basis for this debate is the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Apart from the Turkish Grand National Assembly, we somehow receive the opinions of all different non-governmental organizations, universities, the academic community, the legal community, that is, everyone who has an opinion, and the important thing is that we can produce this result in the most efficient way. It is difficult to give a timetable, but I think we can get results when we discuss the basis and method correctly."
