Pensioners waiting for good news

Pensioners Association (Hak Emek Der) Chairman Remzi Karataş called for the welfare share to be added to the inflation increase in pensions. Karataş said that the finalized 24.73 percent raise rate was insufficient and noted that a welfare share should be added to the raise.

The association, operating within the "Hak-İş" Confederation, called for a welfare share regarding the increases in pensions.

In the statement made by the Chairman of the Association, Remzi Karataş, it was noted that retirees were waiting for good news.

In the statement, it was stated that the official salary increase of 24.73 percent for retirees has been finalized.

"It is clear that the rate of 24.73 percent will not provide significant relief to our retirees' economic conditions and financial difficulties, and to our retirees, most of whom already receive very low salaries," the statement said.

"IN ADDITION TO THE INCREASE, A WELFARE SHARE MUST BE ADDED"

In the statement it was emphasized that retirees are waiting for good news.

"We are expecting good news from the President of the Republic, declaring 2024 as the year of retirees. This good news should be a good news that will comfort our retirees, much higher than the announced rate. Giving our retirees a wage increase worthy of the 'Year of Retirees' will put a smile on the sad faces of our retirees," the statement added.
