The prominent demands in the proposal package prepared by BEM-BİR-SEN, the authorized union in the collective bargaining process; fixed employment and financial and social rights of firefighter and municipal police personnel.
Bem-Bir-Sen shared the demands of the Local Government Service Branch with the public, just days before the 6th Term Collective Agreement process to be held between the government and civil servants. In more than 50 requests, solutions were offered to the problems experienced by local government employees in terms of financial and social rights. Bem-Bir-Sen, "The demands we have prepared for this Collective Agreement period not only point out the negativities arising from the legislation in the determination and implementation of the administrative, financial, legal, social and personal rights of local government employees, but also aim to contribute to a healthy working peace in our country," it stated.
The following demands were included in the proposal package, in which the demands for the problems of the fire brigade and police personnel were at the forefront:
"Compensation should be increased. Increases within the scope of side payments should be increased. Food aid should be provided on the basis of the daily duty period. Arrangements should be made regarding the actual service period increase. Fire brigade and police personnel should have the rights of martyrdom and veteran. For firefighters who die or become disabled during firefighting duties, cash compensation, like forestry personnel, should be paid."
CONTRACTED PERSONNEL APPLICATION MUST END
Another important demand that stood out in the proposal package was the demand for permanent employment. The union, which is also demanded to terminate the contracted employment of the local government and that all employees reach their cadres, "Contract personnel should be recruited. Arrangements should be made in the cadres of art historians. Arrangements should be made in the staff of biologists. The staffing problem of employees as firefighters should be resolved," it was added.
