The persecution and oppression of the Bangladeshi government on Jamaat-e-Islami is increasing day by day. Jamaat-e-Islami leaders and members are forced to pay allegiance to the government through unlawful arrests.
Recently, the Secretary General of the Jamaat-i Islami Prof. Mia Golam Parwar was released after intense protests following his arrest by government forces. There are already tens of thousands of Jamaat members in the dungeons of Bangladesh.
ARRESTS HAS INCREASED IN THE LAST WEEK
On February 14, 2022, Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami and former Deputy, was arrested by Bangladesh police in connection with a false case. Professor Mia Golam Porwar was released after 3 days of detention.
The day before Parwar's arrest, 35 community leaders and members, including Jamaat-e-Islami Meherpur Regional President Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary Iqbal Hossain and Social Welfare Secretary Jarjis Hossain, were had been arrested for no reason.
GOVERNMENT CONTINUES VIOLENCE CONSPIRACY
President of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman reacted to the government's policies of violence against them.
In his statement, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “The government continues to perpetuate its plot of violence against the leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami and our members. Congregational leaders are harassed and taken prisoner after another by fake lawsuits. We want to make it clear that this kind of dictatorial behavior of the government is not good for anyone."
“ALL ACTIONS OF JAMAAT-I ISLAMI ARE TRANSPARENT AND PEACEFUL”
Another name that reacted to the pressures of the government was Maulana Atm Masum, the Deputy Secretary General of the Bangladesh Jamaat-i Islami. “Since taking office, the government has been using intense pressure and torture to destroy the Jamaat-e-Islami. They brutally executed 5 top Congregation leaders. Despite all these pressures and tortures, the Jamaat-i Islami continued to carry out its party activities in a systematic manner and respectful to the will of the people. All the actions of the Jamaat are transparent and peaceful. The community believes in peaceful programs, not violence. However, despite these facts, the government continues its arrest moves,” Masum said.
"THEY CAN NEVER DESTROY THE JAMAAT-I ISLAMI, BY GOD'S PERMISSION"
Indicating that the Bangladeshi government has made it customary to detain Jamaat leaders and activists from different parts of the country, “We condemn the arrest of 35 Jamaat activists in Meherpur. No ideological movement can be suppressed by repression. The Jamaat will never be abolished by Allah's permission. The people of Bangladesh started to raise their voices against this cruel government. If the government does not stop its repressive policies, it will have to face the tragic consequences," Masum added.
