Physicians left their jobs yesterday at the call of the Turkish Medical Association (TTB). Physicians, who left their job for a day to protest the withdrawal of the regulation presented to the Parliament in the past weeks, demanded that the regulation be put on the agenda of the Assembly again and cover all health workers.

The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) stopped working all over the country after the legislation on the financial and personal rights of physicians was withdrawn from the parliament. Physicians did not provide health services other than emergency services, and demanded that the regulation be put on the agenda of the Assembly and cover all health workers.

“MINISTRY OF HEALTH REMAINS SILENT”

Provincial medical chambers, which also made a press statement about the strike, "The economy, like health, is bankrupt, and our salaries are even below the poverty line. Although we have repeatedly called out to the Minister of Health in all these processes in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, unfortunately he remained silent and still remains," it was stated.

“THE SCOPE OF THE REGULATION SHOULD BE EXTENDED”

Physicians who also want the withdrawn bill to be insufficient and to expand the coverage, "With the regulation made, physicians' wages cannot even reach the poverty line. We would like to point out to the government that the salary you will give to retired physicians is not high; the wages you give to the employees are low. Healthcare is teamwork; each member of the team wants to work as a team with a humane wage and safe working conditions, without disturbing the work peace," it was added.
