A PKK terrorist was killed during a clash with Turkish army in southeastern Hakkari province early Wednesday morning, according to a military source.
The clash took place when security personnel were carrying out a search operation in a central district of the province, the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said.
An M-16 rifle was also seized from the slain terrorist.
The PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU -- resumed its armed campaign against Turkey in July 2015.
Since then, it has been responsible for the deaths of some 1,200 Turkish security personnel and civilians, including a number of women and children.
